Refund & Cancellation Policy

This page sets out the terms on which HyperEmblem accepts cancellations and issues refunds for engagements and payments made through the Site.

Overview

HyperEmblem delivers custom software engineering and consulting services under written engagements. This policy explains how cancellations and refunds work for those engagements and for any payments collected through the Site.

Engagement payments

Project work is invoiced in milestones as set out in the signed Statement of Work (SOW). Each milestone payment covers work already scheduled, in progress, or completed for that milestone and the resources committed to it.

Because engineering capacity is reserved in advance, milestone payments that have been received are non-refundable once work on that milestone has begun.

Cancelling an engagement

Either party may terminate an engagement in accordance with the terms set out in the SOW. Unless the SOW says otherwise, the client remains liable for fees for work performed up to the effective date of termination and for any non-recoverable third-party costs already committed (for example, prepaid cloud infrastructure, third-party licences, or contractor fees).

If you have prepaid for work that has not been started by the effective date of termination, that unused portion will be refunded to the original payment method, less any processing fees.

Discovery and advisory sessions

Paid discovery workshops, audits, or advisory sessions can be rescheduled at no cost if you notify us at least 72 hours before the scheduled start time. Cancellations made within 72 hours of the session, or no-shows, are non-refundable.

Refund process

Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within 7–10 business days of approval. The time it takes for the refund to appear on your statement depends on your bank or card issuer.

Refunds are made in the same currency as the original payment. Currency-conversion losses, payment-gateway charges, and bank fees are not refundable.

How to request a refund or cancellation

To request a cancellation or refund, email tech@hyperemblem.com with your invoice number, the engagement reference, and a short explanation. We respond within two business days and will confirm next steps in writing.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time. Changes apply to engagements signed after the “Last updated” date shown above. Engagements already in progress are governed by the policy in effect at the time the SOW was signed, together with the cancellation terms in that SOW.
